This air fryer egg and cheese toast recipe is the perfect quick and satisfying breakfast with crispy toast, melty cheese, and a perfectly cooked egg.
Ingredients
1 slice white sandwich bread
1 egg
3 tbsp shredded mozzarella cheese
1 tbsp olive oil
Sesame seeds for topping
Syrup or honey for serving (optional)
Instructions
1. Place bread in air fryer basket (no pre-toasting required)
2. Press center of bread with spoon to create a well
3. Brush olive oil over surface and edges of bread
4. Crack egg into the well carefully
5. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella over the top
6. Air fry at 175°C / 350°F for 7 minutes; check at 5 minutes
7. For runny yolk: stop at 7 minutes; for set yolk: cook up to 10 minutes
8. Top with sesame seeds and a pinch of salt
9. Serve warm, with optional drizzle of syrup or honey
