Description
A simple, juicy baked chicken breast recipe with garlic, herbs, and butter. Quick, flavorful, and perfect for meal prep or an easy weeknight dinner.
Ingredients
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, fat trimmed
2 cloves garlic, minced
Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
½ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon dried oregano
½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
1 tablespoon butter, divided into 4 pats
Olive oil cooking spray
Parchment paper or foil
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 400°F. Lightly grease a 9×13 baking dish with olive oil cooking spray.
2. Pat chicken breasts dry with paper towels. Place them in the prepared dish.
3. Rub minced garlic on each piece, then season both sides with salt, pepper, garlic powder, oregano, and Italian seasoning.
4. Top each chicken breast with a pat of butter.
5. Cover the dish tightly with parchment paper, tucking the edges around the chicken.
6. Bake for 30 to 33 minutes, or until internal temperature reaches 162°F to 165°F.
7. (Optional) For golden tops, broil for 1–2 minutes after baking.
8. Remove from oven and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing or serving.
Notes
Parchment paper helps retain moisture and prevents drying out.
Let the chicken rest before slicing to lock in juices.
Use an instant-read meat thermometer for perfect doneness.
Alternative seasonings include onion powder, paprika, thyme, or rosemary.
