Notes

Cook marshmallows over medium or low heat and remove as soon as melted to avoid hard treats.

Keep utensils and bowls dry while melting candy to prevent seizing.

Substitute candy melts with white chocolate plus green gel coloring, or dark chocolate plus black gel coloring.

Use microwave in short bursts to melt chocolate if needed.

Thin thick candy with small amounts of vegetable shortening.

Prep time: about 10–15 minutes. Set time: 30 minutes. No refrigeration needed.

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.

Freeze up to 3 months if individually wrapped.

Marshmallow substitute: 3/4 cup peanut butter and 3/4 cup honey or maple syrup.
