Description

Crispy on the outside, creamy and fruity inside, these French Toast Rollups are the perfect grab-and-go breakfast or cozy brunch idea. Kid-approved and easy to make!

Ingredients

Scale

8 slices white sandwich bread

4 oz cream cheese, softened

2 tbsp powdered sugar

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

3 tbsp strawberry jam

2 eggs

3 tbsp milk

1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

2 tbsp butter, for pan

1/4 cup granulated sugar (for coating)

Instructions

1. Trim crusts off bread and flatten slices with a rolling pin.

2. Mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla in a bowl until smooth.

3. Spread cream cheese mix over bread slices, then add a thin layer of jam.

4. Roll each slice up tightly and set aside.

5. Whisk eggs, milk, and cinnamon together in a shallow dish.

6. Dip each roll in egg mixture, coating all sides.

7. Heat butter in skillet over medium heat. Cook rollups 1–2 minutes per side until golden brown.

8. While still warm, roll in granulated sugar to coat.

9. Serve warm with maple syrup or fresh fruit.

Notes

Use soft, fresh white bread for best results.

Don’t soak rolls too long in the egg mixture to avoid sogginess.

Try other fillings like Nutella, peanut butter, or blueberry jam.

Make-ahead tip: prep rolls and refrigerate overnight, then cook in the morning.
