Ingredients
2 pounds carrots peeled and sliced
¼ cup butter
2 to 4 tablespoons brown sugar light or dark to taste
¼ to ½ teaspoon salt to taste
⅛ teaspoon ground white pepper
Instructions
1. Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add peeled and evenly sliced carrots. Cook 8 to 10 minutes until fork tender yet not mushy. Drain very well.
2. Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir in brown sugar salt and white pepper until the mixture looks smooth and silky.
3. Add drained carrots to the pan. Toss gently until evenly coated and glossy. Simmer 2 to 3 minutes so the glaze clings. Serve warm.
Notes
Use baby carrots if you prefer quicker prep.
Do not freeze. The texture turns mushy after thawing.
