Description
Ground Beef Stroganoff is creamy, cozy, and ready in just 30 minutes. This comfort food classic is quick, budget-friendly, and made without canned soup.
Ingredients
6 ounces egg noodles
1 pound ground beef
¼ cup butter
¼ cup flour
1 cup beef broth
1 ¼ cups milk
½ tsp garlic powder
½ tsp onion powder
1 tsp pepper
1 tsp salt
¼ cup sour cream (or light sour cream or Greek yogurt)
Instructions
1. Cook noodles 2 minutes less than package directions; do not rinse.
2. Brown ground beef in skillet; drain grease and set aside.
3. Melt butter in skillet, whisk in flour for 2 minutes to form a roux.
4. Gradually whisk in beef broth, then milk; simmer and thicken.
5. Add garlic powder, onion powder, pepper, and salt.
6. Lower heat, stir in beef and noodles.
7. Remove from heat, mix in sour cream.
8. Serve hot.
Notes
No mushrooms included (can be added if preferred).
Use exactly 6 oz of noodles to maintain sauce consistency.
Full-fat or light sour cream works; Greek yogurt is a substitute.
