Description

Spooky, crispy Halloween Sausage Mummies made with puff pastry and sausages. Ready in just 25 minutes and perfect for kids and parties.


Ingredients

Sausages (meat or vegetarian)

Ready-rolled puff pastry

1 egg (beaten with 1 tbsp water or milk, for egg wash)

Edible eyes (store-bought) OR homemade eyes (cheese + black sesame seeds)


Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 200°C (180°C fan) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.

2. Unroll puff pastry and cut into thin strips.

3. Wrap each sausage with pastry strips, leaving a space for the eyes.

4. Place on the tray and brush with egg wash.

5. Bake for 18–20 minutes until golden and crisp.

6. Add edible or homemade eyes once baked, then serve warm.

Notes

Eyes can be made with tiny cheese circles and black sesame seeds.

Best served warm.

Use either meat or vegetarian sausages.

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. Reheat in oven to crisp.
