Description

Festive Kitchen Sink Cookies packed with sweet and salty mix-ins for the perfect Christmas cookie tray. Chewy centers, crisp edges, and no chilling required.

Ingredients

Scale

3/4 cup salted butter, softened

3/4 cup light brown sugar, packed

1/4 cup granulated sugar

2 egg yolks, at room temperature

2 teaspoons vanilla bean paste or vanilla extract

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, spooned and leveled

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup red and green M&M’s

1/3 cup white chocolate chips

1/3 cup pretzel pieces

1/3 cup crushed potato chips

2 tablespoons red and green sprinkles (jimmies)

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.

2. In a large bowl, beat the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes.

3. Add the egg yolks and vanilla and continue mixing until the mixture turns pale and fluffy.

4. Add flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt and mix until fully combined.

5. Gently fold in the M&M’s, white chocolate chips, pretzels, potato chips, and sprinkles with a spatula.

6. Portion the dough into 20 balls and place them 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheets.

7. Optionally, press extra mix-ins on top of each dough ball for appearance.

8. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes depending on desired texture.

9. Immediately after baking, optionally use a round cookie cutter to gently reshape the cookies into perfect circles.

10. Let cookies cool on the sheets for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool for 10 more minutes.

Notes

Ensure flour is measured correctly: spoon it into the cup and level off, or use a scale (1 cup = 125 g).

Beat butter, sugars, and yolks until pale and fluffy for better texture.

Add a few mix-ins on top before baking for a festive look.

Shape hot cookies with a round cutter for uniform circles.

Yields 20 cookies. Prep 15 minutes. Bake 10 to 12 minutes. No chilling required.

Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Refrigerate dough up to 3 days or freeze dough up to 2 weeks.

Best when baked just until golden: 10 minutes for chewy centers, 12 minutes for crisp edges.

Sweet and salty flavor with crunchy and chewy textures. Swap in butterscotch chips or peanut butter chips if desired.
