Description

Rich, fudgy Oreo brownies with festive crunch from Halloween Oreos. Simple, beginner friendly, and perfect for spooky parties or cozy movie nights.

Ingredients

Scale

2/3 cup butter

1/4 cup vegetable oil

1 cup granulated sugar

1/3 cup brown sugar

2/3 cup cocoa powder

2 cold eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

15 Halloween Oreos

5 Halloween Oreos, crushed for topping

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F and line an 8×8 inch pan with parchment paper.

2. In a microwave safe bowl, melt butter, oil, granulated sugar, and brown sugar in 30 second intervals, stirring between each, until smooth. Microwave 1 more minute and whisk well to dissolve sugar.

3. Whisk in eggs one at a time until glossy, then whisk in vanilla.

4. Fold in cocoa powder, salt, and flour just until combined. Do not overmix.

5. Spread half the batter in the pan. Arrange 15 whole or halved Oreos over the batter. Cover with remaining batter and smooth the top. Sprinkle with crushed Oreos.

6. Bake 30 minutes, then cool completely in the pan before slicing.

Notes

Let brownies cool for several hours, up to 8, for the cleanest slices.

Use a sharp knife dipped in warm water and wiped clean between cuts.

Add 1/3 cup chocolate chips or chunks for extra richness.

Melt mixture on the stovetop in a double boiler instead of the microwave if preferred.

Top with orange or vanilla frosting, chocolate ganache, or extra Oreos for a festive look.

Pan size: 8×8 inches. Servings: typically 9 to 16 squares.

Storage: airtight container at room temperature up to 5 days; refrigerate for longer.

Freezing: up to 3 months; thaw in the fridge or at room temperature. Reheat briefly for a gooey texture.
