Description
A spooky fun Halloween pizza topped with a string cheese spiderweb and black olive spiders. Perfect for parties, family dinner, or a festive activity with kids!
Ingredients
4 sticks whole-milk string cheese
12 large pitted black olives
1 ball pizza dough (14 to 16 ounces)
⅔ to ¾ cup pizza sauce
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 500°F if using a baking sheet, or as hot as possible if using a baking stone or steel. Place stone or steel in the oven before preheating.
2. Tear string cheese into thin strips. Slice olives in half lengthwise; set aside 8 halves for spider bodies, then cut the remaining halves into thin strips for legs.
3. Stretch or roll dough into a 12- to 14-inch round and place on a baking sheet or lightly floured peel. Prick dough all over with a fork.
4. Spread sauce evenly over dough, leaving a ½-inch border.
5. Bake dough with sauce for 3 to 5 minutes until crust is lightly golden.
6. Remove from oven and quickly arrange cheese strips into a spider web pattern. Place olive halves with strip legs around the web to form spiders.
7. Return to oven and bake another 3 to 5 minutes until cheese has melted. Let cool slightly before slicing and serving.
Notes
Pricking the dough prevents bubbles that can disrupt the web pattern.
Assemble cheese and olive decorations quickly while crust is hot.
Each spider is made of one olive half for the body and eight olive strips for legs.
