Description

Creepy, rich Spooky Eyeball Fudge Brownies with a chewy brownie base, silky chocolate fudge, and candy eyeballs, perfect for Halloween parties and easy to make with a boxed mix.

Ingredients

Scale

1 box fudge brownie mix

1/4 cup water

1/3 cup oil

1 egg

2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk

1 teaspoon chocolate extract

Candy eyeballs

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F and line an 8×8 inch pan with foil or parchment.

2. Mix brownie mix with water, oil, and egg until smooth, then pour into the pan.

3. Bake about 40 minutes until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs, not wet batter.

4. Cool completely in the pan.

5. Bring 2 inches of water to a simmer in a saucepan and set a heat-safe bowl on top.

6. Add chocolate chips and sweetened condensed milk; stir until melted and smooth.

7. Stir in chocolate extract.

8. Pour the warm fudge evenly over cooled brownies.

9. Immediately press candy eyeballs into the soft fudge.

10. Let sit 2 to 3 hours at room temperature until set, then slice with a clean sharp knife.

Notes

Allow brownies to cool completely before adding fudge to keep layers even.

Press candy eyes while the fudge is warm but not runny for best placement.

Let the fudge set several hours for clean slices and less mess.
