Description
Crispy, golden churro bites made in the air fryer! Less oil, all the cinnamon sugar joy, and pantry-friendly ingredients.
Ingredients
**For the dough:**
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup water
1/3 cup + 1 tbsp unsalted butter
1 tsp salt
2 tbsp sugar
1 tsp vanilla essence
1 large egg
**For the coating:**
1 cup white sugar
1 tbsp cinnamon powder
Instructions
1. In a pan, combine water, butter, salt, and sugar. Bring to a boil.
2. Lower heat and gradually add flour. Stir until dough forms and pulls away from the pan.
3. Remove from heat. Cool for 4–5 minutes.
4. Mix in the egg and vanilla using a hand mixer until smooth.
5. Transfer dough to a piping bag.
6. Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C) and lightly spray the basket.
7. Pipe bite-sized pieces into the basket, leaving space between each.
8. Brush tops with melted butter. Air fry 10–12 minutes until golden.
9. Mix sugar and cinnamon in a bowl.
10. Toss warm churro bites in the mixture right after cooking.
11. Serve warm with your favorite dips like chocolate sauce, dulce de leche, or cream cheese frosting.
Notes
Best eaten fresh. Store extras in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
Reheat in air fryer at 350°F for 1–2 minutes and recoat in sugar.
Dough can be made a day ahead—let come to room temp before piping.
Avoid overcrowding the air fryer to keep churros crisp.
Great served with coffee, hot chocolate, or ice cream.
